Thanks to all who came to the Derivative Room at the SIGGRAPH 2001 Web3D RoundUP party in Los Angeles on August 15. Here are some web-compressed samples.

All visuals were synthesized live with Touch 101 running on two MIDI-controlled Dell/NVIDIA laptops feeding a video mixer.

Shout outs to house producer/DJ Peace Harvest (Play Records, Toronto) for the El Kabong set, electro producer/DJ RD (Experimental Liqour Museum, LA) for the Mordka set, and RoundUP's Tim Childs & Sally Jane Steele.

FAQ:
Is the music driving the visuals? Not in these recent events. We tap in the beat to get the animated cycles synced up to the DJ's music. And we're tweaking sliders and buttons for the rest. Touch can respond to the music, but we're finding it's not as interesting for our current live work.
