The Pixel Gallery is Toronto's first gallery dedicated to interactve art. It featured a sound exploration piece by Greg Hermanovic that first showed at the Waterloo Kids Museum.

3D Surround-Sound Exploration for New Children's Museum

Derivative previewed a new surround-sound animation exhibit for Canada's Waterloo Regional Children's Museum. Children move three glow balls on a projection screen in 5.1 surround-sound. Sounds are grabbed and moved using a high-speed XYZ-sensitive wand.
Derivative Co-Founder Receives Academy Award

March 1, 2003 - Greg Hermanovic, co-founder of Derivative and Side Effects Software, was presented a Scientific and Engineering Academy Award in LA, alongside three Side Effects Software colleagues, for the pioneering of procedural modeling in PRISMS and Houdini, the predecessors of TouchDesigner.

This summer marks the return of venerable stadium rockers Rush to the North American concert circuit. Performing live 3D animation on two laptops is artist James Ellis, who has been busy with the Derivative team designing twelve new Touch synths, projected behind the band during their three-hour concert. The tour kicked off on June 28th in Hartford, Conneticut, with over 40 concerts scheduled.
