The Pixel Gallery is Toronto's first gallery dedicated to interactve art. It featured a sound exploration piece by Greg Hermanovic that first showed at the Waterloo Kids Museum.

  Toronto International Film Festival - Peter Mettler's Elsewhere

The Toronto Film Festival and Nuit Blanche featured the works of Peter Mettler, maker of Pictures of Light and Gambling / Gods. Peter, Derivative, Murcof, Evergreen Gamelan joined in an eight-hour fusion of live manipulated image and sound at Berkeley Church in Toronto. September 15 & 30, 2006

  Interactive Futures at Victoria Film Festival - NEW QUICKTIME!

Derivative and music producer Task performed at Ineractive Futures in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The event explored improvised aural-visual composition, tying together new animation tools of Touch with electronic music tools.

  Native Instruments + Derivative

  Oct-2005  

Native Instruments partnered with Derivative to create an interactive audio-visual installation that tied three customized Reaktor instruments with three new Touch synths. Hardware was provided by Shuttle PC, Gigabyte and AMD. Painting excerpts courtesy of Steven Nederveen.

  3D Surround-Sound Exploration for New Children's Museum

Derivative previewed a new surround-sound animation exhibit for Canada's Waterloo Regional Children's Museum. Children move three glow balls on a projection screen in 5.1 surround-sound. Sounds are grabbed and moved using a high-speed XYZ-sensitive wand.

  Derivative Co-Founder Receives Academy Award

March 1, 2003 - Greg Hermanovic, co-founder of Derivative and Side Effects Software, was presented a Scientific and Engineering Academy Award in LA, alongside three Side Effects Software colleagues, for the pioneering of procedural modeling in PRISMS and Houdini, the predecessors of TouchDesigner.

  Smirnoff Video Mixer

Smirnoff released four new Touch video loop mixers, each with a 30-minute visual mix to a DJ set. Play it or mix it yourself. You can build synths like this with TouchDesigner.

Touch is both a standalone player and a PC plug-in for Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator, versions 4 and above. Check out Touch content embedded in a web browser.

  Touch artist on tour with Rush this summer!

This summer marks the return of venerable stadium rockers Rush to the North American concert circuit. Performing live 3D animation on two laptops is artist James Ellis, who has been busy with the Derivative team designing twelve new Touch synths, projected behind the band during their three-hour concert. The tour kicked off on June 28th in Hartford, Conneticut, with over 40 concerts scheduled.   Touch's First QuickTime Video Mixer Synth

Jaku is online in the Prototypes label. It comes with 5 built in QuickTime movies but Mixer users can load up to 32 QuickTime movies per layer. Features include: 2 video layers, luminance key, chroma key, edge effect, video loop sync to beat, video mirror, video orb, video paint and other interesting effects. This is the first video mixer and video effects processor built completely within TouchDesigner - it is yet to be optimized. Here is the power of Touch - Designer users can download the synth's Project file to add custom new effects or to use as a foundation for making new video mixers.

  Derivative at Toronto's iDance

Derivative presented the live visuals at Toronto's iDance rally on September 2, 2001, which drew over 30,000 people. Check out some video clips and try some Touch synths here.

  Touch featured on CITY TV's N3TV
