Danny
Tenaglia with Derivative at the Winter Music Conference 2001
Derivative
produced and performed live visuals for Danny Tenaglia's 18-hour
set at Miami's Club Space for the Winter Music Conference.
The event was sponsored by Mekka, a new entertainment company
serving the electronic music culture.
Danny
Tenaglia's sets, spanning deep, dark house, techno and beyond
areintricately-woven heavily-textured sonic mixes. 6000 people
graced the Club Space dancefloors to discover why Danny is
viewed by many as the most potent electronic dance music DJ.
Derivative
produced special live animations for Mekka, layering them
with the rhythmic live abstract visuals from Derivative's
repertoire.
Derivative
will be making many of these visuals available for free download,
which can be played with TouchPlayer, the new live performance
tool from Derivative.
El
Kabong, a collective of artists who performed with Danny Tenaglia,
ran Derivative's Touch on two PCs and laptop driven by MIDI
controllers, and combined the imagery with a video mixer connected
to five projection screens. Touch, now in beta testing, has
been recently used in performances with Bad Boy Bill, Armand
van Helden and Adam X.
